We had an ice storm blow through a couple of weeks ago. It was nothing like the North American Ice Storm of 1998, but it was enough to coat everything in a slick layer of ice.
Thankfully, the damage was minimal, a few broken branches, and no loss of power. Seeing our world looking as though it was made of glass was a beautiful sight :)
Ice storms can be very pretty but also scarey. Years ago we had one in Texas of all places and as the trees bent they broke and it sounded like a gun being shot off. Your photos are lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love these photos beautiful outcome but wouldn't want to be caught in one heheh!
ReplyDeleteHave an icetastic week :-)
Yeah, that's the downside of a mild winter, alright.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos - ice can be treacherous but it is also lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2016/03/the-fight-continues.html
The closeup of the ice coating is interesting. We've had such mild winters these last few years I hardly know what snow is like unless i head up to the high country. - Margy
ReplyDeleteIt looks magical. We get nothing like that over her in oz
ReplyDeleteWhenever that happens around here we loose power. It's super pretty!

ReplyDeleteYour photos are so lovely! Whites and blues are always calming and serene to look at.
Beautiful photos!! I am thankful we are mostly past the snow and ice here though. :)

We have had the odd ice storm like that in Normandy but very rarely. They are so beautiful but also so potentially damaging and I am glad you didn't lose your power with this one. #pocolo
ReplyDeleteWe had a terrible ice storm in MA several years ago. We lost power for 11 days it was that bad. Your pics. are really pretty - the trees look like glass with their ice coating.
ReplyDeleteThose are so beautiful. We don't really get storms like this in the UK :)
ReplyDeleteStunning pictures, glad there's not much damage but given how pretty it all looks you might be tempted to forgive that. thanks for linking up to #pocolo and sorry it's taken me so long to get to you :)
