After spending the past few days avoiding the outdoors, I had hoped to get some photos of ice huts on the lake. A few consecutive days of temperatures in the minus thirties meant that the lake would have enough ice on it for fishing.
Sadly, I didn't see any. It was snowing, and I couldn't see out very far.
I get frustrated this time of year. The world is so white and I feel as though there's nothing to take photos of. Snow gets boring after a while.
OK, so the ice heaved up against the shore was interesting.
And I'll head back out when the snow clears and the sun is shining.
I have to say, it's hard to feel inspired these days. It must be a February thing.
But these words resonated with me when I came across them last week.
I have to say, it's hard to feel inspired these days. It must be a February thing.
But these words resonated with me when I came across them last week.
Soon enough, this world of white will begin to thaw. In the meantime, I'll have to try harder to look for inspiration in the here and now.
I suppose one can always count on dogs for that.
Thank you for featuring me!
What a beautiful quote lovely! And I love the photo of your doggie flying through the air! What a free & happy image. Thanks so much for sharing with candid cuddles x
ReplyDeleteWise words indeed from Francis Bacon! I just wrote a post on that because I too was wasting my potential and now I am doing what I love!!Never been happier!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quote! I needed that today! Thanks so much for sharing at Oh My Heartsie Girls Wordless Wednesdays!
ReplyDeleteThat photo of your dog is superb! I love it - his red jacket really pops out at you and he is quite camouflaged by the trees when you first look. #PointShoot
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quote. I am feeling the same with the winter blues, I keep trying to find ways to give myself a boast of motivation. Some warm weather would really help but oh well. Thanks for sharing #candidcuddles
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a leap, how did it start? - Margy
ReplyDeleteWow, that seems really cold. We have had a cold weather here in Florida, but not like that. It certainly is pretty to look at. Your dog is adorable - what a shot.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at Chain Linky CLIMB,
Stay warm,
Bev
ow that looks really cold. Lovely captures.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great photo of your dog :) wow you have lots os snow don't you. We have been forecast some tonight. Not sure if we will get it though. Only had a little flurry this year. Thanks for stopping by The Wednesday Blog Hop
ReplyDeleteSo lovely! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI feel ya. It's a world of white outside my window too. Today has been calm periods alternating with blizzard conditions. Each time I think to run out and maybe catch a bird at the feeder, the wind and snow kicks up. Should I hope for calm when I go to the bus stop? LOL
ReplyDeleteI have a cat... but he's a lazy sod on my daughter's pillow right now. I need a dog. :)
Lovely winter shots and what a great capture of the dog X #pointshoot
ReplyDeleteYou can send it here to the UK. We have not had any and the photographer in me is yearning for some

That shot of your dog - love it! I bet it does get pretty tiring seeing snow day after day. We only get an occasional dusting here in North Carolina. Even so, looking out my kitchen window this morning over the bare trees that stretch out beyond our yard I was thinking how cold & sad it all looked. Just a bit longer and they'll be blooming again and full of color.
ReplyDeleteBah humbug!! We have had too much snow in Baltimore especially with the blizzard. Roll on spring!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful snowy photos! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the snow, so this is a real happy post for me. But I totally get you about looking in the here and now for inspiration :) #happydiaries
ReplyDeleteYour pictures of the snow look far more interesting than the rainy pictures that we have to make do with. However, when we had a cold few months a few years ago and the snow stuck around for months, I remember that life did feel difficult. Dogs are great for keeping you going, hopefully spring isn't far away! A lovely quote and thank you for linking up with #Candidcuddles xx
ReplyDeleteSorry you feel frustrated - you don't have to depend on the weather to take pics. You must have some archives, or things you like, or things you NOT like ...anyhow, I hope you find your zing back:):)
ReplyDeleteHi Jenn, I'm sorry about your feeling of blahness. I actually love your white shots. Enjoy them while they last. Soon the greenness will be upon you:)
ReplyDeleteThat quote is fab! and your dog is a superstar, what a great shot. Thanks for linking up to #PointShoot x
ReplyDeleteOhh I think I would die if I had to live with that much snow. I know what you mean about snow being too white.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing with us, Trscey xx #happydiaries
