Lest We Forget

  5. We found ourselves (quite by accident) in London two years ago on the poppy day. There was a fun parade and a beautiful memorial ceremony. Glad we got to take part in a very small way.

  6. The garden of flags is amazing. What a tribute. It's amazing that the poem still gets to me every single year. Even though I have heard it my whole life, it still catches my breath and brings a tear. One of the greatest pieces of poetry ever written.

  12. I totally get why you shared this one Jenn. Yes its sad to think of those who have died, but also a sense of pride and unity as well. I marked the two minute silence in a busy town centre. everybody stopped and fell silent. It was a magic moment. Tracey xx #happydiaries

  16. Little wonder that we observe with silence, words don't really seem to suffice do they?
