The Promise of Green

This is the dull, in between time.  The colour has been washed away from our world.

We rake up the remnants of last fall's leaves.

And wonder how one leaf survived the winter intact.

I know that it will be a sudden thing, when the green finally arrives.  I'll be driving, and I'll realize that the trees have a green glow about them - something that wasn't there the last time I looked.

Then suddenly they'll have real leaves, and the grass will have transformed from brown to green seemingly overnight.

And it will finally feel like Spring.

  1. You are right it just sneaks up on us!!!
    Have a great spring!

  2. same view here. I cannot wait for green!
at least snow is finally gone. here's to beautiful views for both of us soon

  3. Bring back the colour! Won't be long. Thanks for linking up to #PointShoot x

  4. Isn't it a great feeling? That green glow? I think, no, I know that I am finally seeing a hint of it. Maybe even more than a hint - YAY!!

  5. Cool shots, I am loving seeing signs of Spring now :)

  6. Just this week, we lost every trace of snow from our yard. I really thought it would be until May, but the rain and the humidity and the 65-70 degree days nipped it in the bud.
I am still waiting for sundress weather, but that's more of a May thing here.

  7. I am sure spring is just around the corner!

  8. Hi Jenn,
I see signs of flowers! Yay, it's been a long winter.

I'm making your wonderful Sloppy Joes, again, for dinner tonight! Best recipe ever!!

    Take care, Dawn
