Of course, no cave outing would be complete without a few cool rocks to bring home, so panning we went.
The landscape needed to be seen from up high as well as from down below.
A great day of getting back to nature before getting back to school.
it DOES look like a cool place - reminds me of the Adirondacks actually!
ReplyDeletethe kids must have loved it!
XOXO
They really did, so did the grown-ups... we paid for it the next day though!
DeleteWhat an amazing place - we only made it to Collingwood in winter (when it was very beautiful and snowy), and would have loved to have seen it like this.

This was our first time doing the caves. My legs were killing me the next day!
DeleteYou can see the Blue Mountain ski hills in one of the scenery shots. It's hard to believe that they'll be covered in snow in a few months!
Your trip sounds wonderful, and I loved the photos of the scenery! But my, oh my, your legs must have been sore the next day...
ReplyDeleteOh they were!!
DeleteLooks like a great day and a fun time for all concerned!
ReplyDeleteThat was a great idea - getting back to nature before going back to school. And, it looks like you all had a blast. Panning for gemstones and that bridge way up high looked especially neat.
ReplyDeleteAwesome shots Jenn! A great way to end the summer holidays.
ReplyDeleteThat looks SO much fun! Thanks for linking up at Words for Wednesday!

I'd like to take the kids someplace like this. :) The mining looks fun, I bet my little one would love it.
ReplyDeleteThere must be a lot of poison ivy in that spot to warrant a sign!
Looks amazing!! What great family fun!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love amateur spelunking, but my family ended up hating the idea of going into caves. It does look like you had a totally awesome day.

We love going hiking!!! I'd love to wander through some caves while we're at it! I went as a kid, maybe somewhere in Arkansas? But it's been a LONG time!
ReplyDeleteCool place. Looks like you all had quite the adventure!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. Looks like they had a lot of fun. Seems like a good place to go with the family.

Looks like a beautiful place for a family day/hike!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like so much fun! If you don't mind me asking, where exactly is this? I've visited caves in New Hampshire that look so similar. :) Thanks for linking up at #LOBS!
ReplyDeleteIt was a lot of fun! Collingwood is on Georgian Bay (Lake Huron) in Ontario....about 2 hrs north of Toronto.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
What a gorgeous place for a family trip! I love the gemstone mining...I could while away hours there looking for shiny rocks. My boys would love the caves, but I'd find a nice bench with a view and wait outside for them :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and breathtaking pictures Jenn! How cool are those rocks! :-) So glad you and your family got a chance to squeeze in one more trip before school started! Thanks so much for linking up...have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteAwesome photos! Looks like quite a great adventure to end the summer. =0)

We visited Collingwood for the first time earlier this summer and loved it! Scenic Caves was so much fun - and I still can't get over how cold that natural refrigerator was!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the perfect way to end your summer! I bet the boys loved the gemstone panning. My stepson always loves collecting pretty stones and even just rocks. I find rocks everywhere! Thanks for sharing with us Photog Show and Tell link party. Don't forget to check back October 1st (first Tuesday of the month) for the next link party. Hope your kids are enjoying going back to school! :)
